‘Forty Rules of Love’ by Elif Shafak
I am always fascinated by Rumi’s poetry, quotes and somehow I landed up attending Zikr, a form of devotion, associated chiefly with Sufism, in which the worshipper is absorbed in the rhythmic repetition of the name of God or His attributes. I participated in Zikr, a decade back.
I am always drawn to Sufism and so always want to read a book by Rumi. One of my friends suggested this book. Nowadays I don’t read books much but to my surprise, I bought this book immediately. I believe we read a book as per our energy frequency.
This book is about a woman, who is in search of love, and wants to experience a soul connect. The whole depiction of her struggle and finding love through Sufism is ultimate. While reading this book I got carried away so much that I started experiencing myself as being love. There was no separation, there were no other emotions, only love existed for so many days. I got so many beautiful insights about my existence.
I feel whoever is in their deep journey, must read this book.
